Keep it Fresh
Wished Lysol or Reckitt Benckiser would pay me for this one ; ) |
And, if you're wondering if your pipes, and open taps and traps, are causing immuno-issues for you/your family (this one is for those who have suppressant issues): try pouring hydrogen-peroxide slowly down the pipes for a thorough cleaning here and there. It is inexpensive, and less damaging to your lungs than bleach. [Although bleach is extremely effective for any pipe based cleaning -- its fumes are notorious to your lung health.] Fun facts: hydrogen-peroxide is an effective mouthwash when diluted, too. It's just less brand conscious and doesn't taste like much if your morning or evening gurgles are usually flavored.
Remember, when it comes to disinfecting with chemicals: spray, and contain for a least a few minutes or few moments (60-minutes) before you share the air again. After you apply the disinfectant, for good measures, just hang out in a different room and allow the disinfectant to do its job. Pipes are probably best disinfected at night when you don't actually need use the drains/sinks and you won't be trapped to breath in the fumes coming back up from the pipes as the disinfectants are saturating whatever waters/fluids are still passing through and out of your house/building.
In case you're wondering: don't drink any of the products -- bleach or Lysol or hydrogen peroxide -- not even that tasty mouthwash.
