Structural Boxes

What happens when you stand inside a building and realize the view outside captures the negative space of the architecture’s facade perfectly? Find this unique linear view of a reflective horizontal plane within the time warp of The Line Hotel, Los Angeles. The converging streetscape presents Los Angeles’ revitalization and the hotel's hip-chic neon-existence in Koreatown perfectly with neighboring squarish buildings of the 1960s and 70s lining its Hollywood block. The visual gumdrops of this artwork are given a star with Carl Jr's ever iconic logo whilst the building adorns its own Shepard Fairey mural on one entire exterior wall. Outside, the newly installed LA Metro's Wilshire/Normandie station reminds us that Hollywood's conveniences were not a permanent promise to its past, but an emerging future with its citywide redevelopment in preparation as a second-time Olympic host.
